I’ve been where you are. And I know the way home.

I didn't choose the path of healing - it chose me through the depths of my own pain.
Growing up, I experienced trauma that would shape decades of my life. Childhood abuse. A broken family system. Generational patterns of addiction and dysfunction that felt impossible to escape.
By my twenties, I was drowning. Addiction became my coping mechanism, my escape from a reality too painful to face. I hitchhiked through life - literally and figuratively - trying to outrun the demons that lived inside me.
I thought I was too damaged to fix. Too broken to save.
I was wrong.
Rock bottom doesn't announce itself with trumpets. It whispers in the quiet moments when you realize you can't keep living this way.
Mine came after years of self-destruction. The addiction. The toxic relationships. The running. The hiding. The desperate attempts to feel anything other than the pain I was carrying.
I had a choice: continue down this path and let it destroy me, or find another way.
I chose to live.
But I had no idea that decision would lead me on a 30-year journey of healing, transformation, and ultimately, helping others find their way home.
Recovery wasn't a straight line. It was messy, painful, and required me to face everything I'd been running from.
I got sober. I started therapy. I began the hard work of healing trauma that lived in my bones.
But something was still missing.
The traditional recovery model gave me sobriety, but I craved wholeness.
I needed more than just "not using"- I needed to understand why I'd been so disconnected in the first place.
That's when I discovered metaphysics, energy healing, and hypnotherapy.
Everything changed.
I learned that healing isn't just about stopping destructive behaviors - it's about reconnecting to yourself, to others, to your purpose, and to something greater than yourself.
The Four Pillars of Connection were born from this understanding.
As I healed, I couldn't stop thinking about all the others still suffering. The ones who felt too broken. The ones who thought it was too late. The ones trying to do it all alone.
I knew I had to help them.
I immersed myself in training: hypnotherapy, metaphysical studies, energy work, intuitive development. But my greatest teacher was my own journey - the lived experience of transformation that no certification could teach.
For over 30 years now, I've been walking alongside others on their healing paths. While I hold many titles - Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Metaphysician, Author, Speaker - the one that matters most is simply: someone who's been there and found the way through.
Today, I guide others through The Lighthouse community, group hypnotherapy sessions, and one-on-one work. I've written "Hitchhiking into Recovery" to share my story and the framework that changed my life.
I work with people worldwide—those in recovery, those experiencing spiritual awakening, conscious entrepreneurs building aligned businesses, and anyone feeling disconnected and seeking wholeness.
My mission is simple: to help you remember that you're not broken. You're not too far gone. And you don't have to do this alone.
Healing is possible. Transformation is real. And connection—to yourself, to others, to your purpose, and to Source—is the pathway home.
I'm living proof.
Born from my own journey from disconnection to wholeness, the Four Pillars of Connection provide a roadmap for anyone seeking transformation.
These aren’t just theoretical concepts – they’re living practices that guide my work and the work of thousands who’ve walked this path.
THE FIRST PILLAR
You weren’t meant to heal alone. When you find people who understand your journey – whether in recovery, spiritual awakening, or transformation – everything changes.
This pillar involves:
The Rat Park study proved it: Connection is the opposite of addiction. When you have community, you choose wholeness over escape. When you belong, you heal.
GIVING FROM YOUR SPIRIT
Giving your time and energy to others creates profound purpose, fulfillment, and connection. Service takes you out of your own struggles and connects you to something greater.
This pillar involves:
Service fills your cup even as you pour from it. When you serve from your spirit with humility and love, you enrich both others and yourself. You cannot keep what you have unless you give it away.
LEARNING FROM THOSE WHO'VE WALKED BEFORE
A mentor is someone who’s walked the path before you. They possess wisdom from overcoming the very challenges you’re facing now, and they guide you with compassion and experience.
This pillar involves:
In twelve-step programs, this is called sponsorship. In life, this is finding a guide who’s been there, done that, and made it through. Their wisdom becomes your lighthouse in the storm.
DAILY DIVINE ALIGNMENT
The practice of daily connection to the Divine – however you define it has been the single most life-changing practice in Paula’s journey and the journeys of thousands she’s guided.
This pillar involves:
When you align with Source each morning, you respond to life rather than react. You feel supported, intuitive, and trusting of the Great Mystery. This connection becomes your anchor in all of life’s storms.
While my lived experience is my greatest credential, I’m also professionally trained and certified to support your healing journey

I believe in holistic healing – addressing the body, mind, and spirit as interconnected aspects of the whole person.
Think of it as a wheel with many spokes. Traditional therapy might focus on one spoke. Medical treatment on another. Spiritual practice on yet another. But true, lasting healing happens when we tend to all the spokes.
That’s why my approach integrates:
Accessing the subconscious for deep transformation
Making sense of patterns and behaviors
Clearing blocks and restoring flow
Reconnecting to Source and purpose
Healing in relationship with others
Real-world strategies you can use daily
Safety and compassion first
Trusting the wisdom that comes through
This integrated approach is what makes transformation stick. We’re not just treating symptoms – we’re creating lasting change at every level.
When I’m not facilitating sessions or writing, you’ll find me:
Because even guides need guidance. Even healers need healing. The journey never ends – it just gets richer.
No masks. No pretending. Real, raw, honest healing.
Meeting you exactly where you are, without judgment.
Believing that community and relationship heal us.
